OverviewHistoryRelationships/Pokémon

Ash Ketchum is the main character of both the Pokémon anime[2] and Pokémon Reset Bloodlines. Ash is a Pokémon Trainer who travels the world with his friends and potential romantic partners in order to collect badges and compete in Pokémon League tournaments. Ash hails from Pallet Town, where he grew up and was raised by his single mother Delia Ketchum.

Despite it having collapsed, Ash is still connected to The Old Timeline, according to MissingNo in "Truth, both good and bad." This means that he will have some form of connection with Pokémon he would have gotten in The Old Timeline had it not ended.

Ash has shown the ability to create Z-Crystals, though it is unspecified if it is one of his Bloodline powers, and if so which one, or something else.

Personality and Characteristics[]

Like his canon counterpart, Ash is high-spirited, energetic and competitive. He has an almost unshakeable determination and a clear view of his personal goals, and does everything in his power to achieve them. He cares a great deal for those who are close to him, including his mother, friends and Pokémon, and is shown to constantly be a very selfless person who never refuses to help someone in need.

Ash is shown to have a strong sense of justice and fair play, and he shows a strong dislike for unfair treatment or cheating in competitions. He's a person who doesn't like to take what he considers the easy way out, such as relying on his Bloodliner powers for competitive battling or stopping his Gym challenge even after he's technically qualified for the Indigo League. Despite having confidence in his skills, he rarely, if ever, falls into arrogance, accepting his losses with dignity and never gloating over his victories, which makes him earn the respect and often friendship of his rivals.

Despite his cheerful exterior, deep down Ash harbors some feelings of sorrow for what he lost when the old timeline crashed, something he tends to keep to himself and is unable to share with anybody except for his Pokémon. He's shown to be saddened when he was unable to at least partially restore Brock's memories and decided to let him live his life, as well as being on the border of a breakdown when he thought Iris, Dawn and Cilan could have gone missing or dead (expressing great relief when Iris was revealed to be alive).

He's also shown to have episodes of anger when someone he cares about is hurt or threatened, such as when Paul sent his Primeape flying into the sky (possibly with fatal results), or when he encountered Joshua and was reminded of how because of him Serena was expelled from Professor Oak's camp. It is implied that he inherited this trait from his biological father, a fact that notably unnerves him whenever it comes up and he does his best to try and keep it under control.

Unlike in The Old Timeline, Ash is more aware of romantic and sexual relationships, if still somewhat inexperienced in them. It is implied that as a result of being physically older, combined with the memories of the current timeline, has made him more receptive of these things, quickly developing a physical attraction towards his female companions that slowly grows more into the emotional areas, especially after Pikachu reveals to him that he always noticed how they seemed to feel attracted to him in both timelines. Nevertheless, while he's come to accept these feelings, he's still unsure as to how act on them, should he decide to pursue a relationship with any (or all) of them.

Bloodline(s)[]

Species Bloodline (Lucario)[]

Ash has the potential to learn all the moves a Lucario is capable of learning as well as currently weak aura abilities. He can understand the speech of any Pokémon he develops a connection with.

Known Moves

  • Power-Up Punch
  • Heal Pulse
  • Metal Claw

Dominion Bloodline (Pokémon Strengthening)[]

Ash has the ability to give a drastic power increase to a Pokémon he's directing. In doing so, his eyes light up. He refuses to use this ability outside of life and death situations.

Equipment[]

Pokédex[]

Ash was gifted a Pokédex by Professor Oak when he started his journey. When Ash and his friends found two original model PokéGears, the Pokédex repurposed them to be peripherals for it that allow it to function through them as second and third side units. When the main body was later destroyed, Oak replaced it with a new model.

H.O.P.E. Glove[]

Ash is one of two people given the H.O.P.E. Glove prototype by Professor Oak. Ash's H.O.P.E. Glove along with his Pokédex allows him to duplicate Poké Balls to infinity due to a program created by the Pokédex. Along with regular Poké Balls, Ash has access to multiple copies of the Quick, Timer, Premier, Repeat, Nest, Heal, Net, Luxury, and Great Balls from the S.S. Anne, and the Moon Ball, which he obtained from Karen. Misty also got some Dive Balls from the S.S. Anne, it is likely though unconfirmed that the Pokédex has created copies of these for Ash as well.

Item Capsules (x40)[]

Ash is one of four people to receive an Item Capsule set from Professor Oak to test for the Professor and Dr. Boxer.

Key Stone[]

Ash obtained a Key Stone from his participation in the Battle Dome Tournament, and later purchased a bracelet to house it in. He has obtained two Mega Stones, one as a gift from Misty as one as a prize in a contest, but to date neither of those stones are of use to Pokemon he already owns.
